COVID-19 Update

We all have a responsibility to keep each other safe at this year’s Conservative Party Conference. Whilst the success of the vaccine programme has provided us with the opportunity to meet in-person this year, we all must take steps to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Before You Arrive

We encourage all attendees to take a free Lateral Flow Test before they travel to Conference.

You must not attend Conference if you test positive or if you have any of the following symptoms:

  • High temperature
  • New, continuous cough
  • Loss or change to your sense of smell or taste

If you have any of these symptoms or your Lateral Flow Test is positive, please take a PCR test and stay at home, self-isolating until you receive your PCR test result. You can book a PCR test here.

We will offer refunds on tickets purchased if you can no longer attend the Conference due to a positive COVID-19 test or self-isolation.

If your PCR test result is Negative, you may attend Conference as normal, following the measures below.

Full details on when and who may need to self-isolate can be found here.

Entry

To help ensure a safe conference, we are encouraging all attendees to have an up-to-date NHS COVID Pass which provides evidence of one of the following:

  • Double vaccination at least two weeks prior
  • A recent negative lateral flow or PCR test result (valid for 48 hours from result)
  • Natural immunity shown by a positive PCR test result within the last 180 days (following completion of the self-isolation period)

Please click here to visit the NHS website which will provide full details on how to obtain an NHS COVID Pass.

In light of the Government’s recent announcement that COVID status certification will not be mandatory at this point, you will not be asked to show your NHS COVID Pass at the entrance.

Testing

We encourage attendees to take free Lateral Flow Tests before they travel to, and while they are at Conference. You can pick up tests for free at a local pharmacy and report the result online. There are also testing sites within Manchester City Centre, details can be found here.

At the request of Manchester’s Director of Public Health, there will be spot checks to monitor compliance with testing guidance. Spot checks will be voluntary, but we encourage you to take part.

At Conference

We have worked with all our partners this year to ensure inside Conference is a safe environment. You will notice hand sanitizer stations available for delegates to use, as well as enhanced cleaning regimes across all event rooms and catering areas. Event rooms at both venues, and outside in the marquees, will also be properly ventilated. You can view further details on the venue’s COVID-19 measures here.

Facemasks

We encourage attendees to wear facemasks in crowded and enclosed areas where you come into contact with people you don’t usually meet.

What to do if you feel unwell

If you feel unwell or develop COVID-19 symptoms during Conference, please contact our COVID Support line on 020 7984 8179‬. One of our team will provide support on what to do next.
