The Independent Investigation into alleged discrimination in the Party, led by Professor Swaran Preet Singh, has reached its second phase. Professor Singh is calling for new information.
The Party has cooperated with the Investigation to provide all of the appropriate information. The Investigation is now seeking further evidence relating to allegations of discrimination which have been raised in the past, but which may not have been considered by the Complaints Department, for whatever reason. We would urge members who feel they can contribute to Professor Singh’s Investigation to contribute to the Call for Evidence.
The full text of the Call for Evidence and submission form can be found here: https://singhinvestigation.co.uk.
Professor Swaran Singh said:
“The Independent Investigation is reaching the end of its initial examination of the Conservative Party’s handling of past complaints of discrimination. We are now calling for further evidence that we may not already have seen to ensure that we are aware, as far as realistically possible, of all evidence relating to alleged discrimination within the Party. We need to determine whether all important evidence of discrimination has been considered in the framework of the Party’s existing complaints process.”
The closing deadline for submissions relating to this Call for Evidence is 16:00 BST on October 17, 2020. For further information please contact contact@singhinvestigation.co.uk.
Commenting, Therese Coffey, Secretary of State for the Department of Work and Pensions, said:
“Corbyn’s Pension Tax will see ten million savers facing a huge bill forcing them to delay their retirement for almost three and a half years.
“This is just one of the ways a Corbyn government would hammer hardworking people on top of his plans to hike up taxes by £2,400 a year, as well as the cost of his plan for unlimited immigration and the chaos of 2020 being dominated by two more referendums – one on Brexit and another on Scottish independence.
“Only Boris Johnson and the Conservative Party can get Brexit done with a deal, get parliament working again and turbocharge our economy to unleash Britain’s potential.”
